HERE'S A LITTLE BIT OF WHAT WE DO:
COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL
ATTIC AND WALL INSULATION
BASEMENTS / CRAWLSPACES
SUNROOMS / PORCHES
GARAGES / POLE BARNS
SPRAY FOAM - QUADFOAM CLOSED-CELL INSULATION
NEW BUILDS, ROOFS, CRAWLSPACES, FLOOR JOISTS
People often ask the difference between the closed-cell foam we use and the cheaper open-cell foam. The main difference is the nature of the foam. Open-cell foam has tiny cells that aren't completely closed, they fill with air making the foam weaker and softer (think angel food cake) only offering an R-value of around 3.5 per inch. Closed-cell differs in that all of its tiny cells are closed and packed together. They are filled with a gas that helps the foam rise and expand, and become a greater insulator, offering an R-7 per inch. The advantages of closed-cell foam include its strength, higher R-value, and a much greater resistance to air leakage and water vapor.
CHURCH'S FLASH & BATT METHOD -THE LATEST INNOVATION
CLOSED-CELL FOAM & FIBERGLASS IN OPEN STUD WALLS
The next big thing for new construction and any open studs is our Flash and Batt Method which includes a layer of spray foam to seal the wall and then cover it with fiber glass batting. It's much more cost effective than foam alone and offers adequate R-value. Yeah, we do that.
CELLULOSE - DRY BLOWN-IN CELLULOSE BY ENERGY CONTROL
USED MOSTLY IN EXISTING ATTICS AND WALLS
There's no debate when it comes to "green" insulation, cellulose is the only choice. Energy Control products are manufactured from 100% postconsumer recycled fibers. They reduce the largest single component of the residential waste stream, by mining from scrap paper the valuable, all natural cellulose fibers. Cellulose insulation also requires much less energy to produce so our carbon footprint is the smallest in the industry. It's one of the most cost effective methods of insulation, producing an R-value of around 3.5 per inch. As if all that wasn't convincing enough, Energy Control offers a LIFETIME WARRANTY on their cellulose insulation. "Pass on the pink stuff when you pick insulation." Indeed! Choose green!
